Training the model took between 2 or 3 weeks of computer processing (on a 2012 computer), and up to 5GB of RAM at some points. In order to train the model, the original data and some programs are required. The original data consists on: * Recordings * Phonetic segmentation of the recordings This data is licensed under a Creative Commons Acknowledgment Share Alike license and can be downloaded from [here](http://festcat.talp.cat/download/data) ## Required tools A not fully (but almost) automated training system can be downloaded from: https://github.com/FestCat/festcat-voice-builder Among all the dependencies, there is a required tool with a non-free license. However the resulting model can be distributed and used freely. The required tools to train the models are: * General utilities: - C, C++ compilers - make - grep, awk, sed - sox - perl - Tcl/Tk with Snack [Snack](http://www.speech.kth.se/snack/) (just install libsnack2-dev) * Specific language-processing tools: 1. [Speech Tools 2.1-release](http://festvox.org/packed/festival/2.1/) 2. [Festival 2.1-release](http://festvox.org/packed/festival/2.1/) 3. [SPTK 3.4.1](http://sourceforge.net/projects/sp-tk) 4. [HTS-2.2](http://hts.sp.nitech.ac.jp/) for [HTK-3.4.1](http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/) (downloading HTK requires a [user and password](http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/register.shtml), as well as agreeing to the [non-free license](http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/docs/license.shtml)) 5. [HDecode 3.4.1](http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/) (it has similar restrictions to HTK) 6. [hts_engine 1.0.5](http://sourceforge.net/projects/hts-engine) * Specific Catalan package: - upc_ca_base (http://festcat.talp.cat, or the "festival-ca" package) debian/changelog0000644000000000000000000000024412075057605011047 0ustar festvox-ca-ona-hts (1.0.2-1) unstable; urgency=low * Initial release (Closes: #639701) -- Sergio Oller Sun, 19 Feb 2012 16:16:00 +0100 debian/copyright0000644000000000000000000001270712075057605011137 0ustar Format: http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/copyright-format/1.0/ Upstream-Name: upc_ca_ona_hts Upstream-Contact: Sergio Oller , Antonio Bonafonte Source: http://festcat.talp.cat/download.php Copyright: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Antonio Bonafonte License: LGPL-2.1+ Files: hts/*.pdf hts/lf0.win* hts/mgc.win* hts/*.inf Copyright: Copyright 2007 Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Antonio Bonafonte License: LGPL-2.1+ Files: hts/label.feats Copyright: 2001-2008 Nagoya Institute of Technology, Department of Computer Science 2001-2008 Tokyo Institute of Technology, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering License: BSD-3-clause Files: festvox/upc_ca_ona_hts.scm Copyright: 2002 Nagoya Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University 2007 Antonio Bonafonte License: EST and LGPL-2.1+ Modifications by Antonio Bonafonte, originals available at festvox.orig as requested.
