When Python code runs in an environment like IBus, unhandled
exceptions inside callbacks are usually caught and swallowed by the
framework, often with no logging. That’s why one sees “silent”
failures: the event handler stops executing at the exception, but IBus
continues running, and you get no clue unless you manually log
something.

Migrate from Gtk.main() to GLib.MainLoop()

GTK4 removes Gtk.main() entirely, so GLib.MainLoop() is the future-proof choice.
Also, GLib.MainLoop() respects Python’s signal handlers, while Gtk.main() does not.
This fixes the problem that ibus-table’s setup tool could not be stopped by
typing Control+C and not by `kill `. ibus-typing-booster’s setup tool
did not have this problem, it reacted just fine to Control+C and `kill `.
I don’t understand why the relevant code looked identical to me.
But as using GLib.MainLoop() is the future-proof choice anyway and works
fine for both ibus-table’s and ibus-typing-booster’s setup tool, I don’t need
to investigate why it didn’t work with Gtk.main() for ibus-table’s setup tool.

I wasn't able to reproduce the audible popping sounds from #681 for some
reason. Maybe I had different apps running that interacted with pipewire
different? However, if I ran this to load the CPU:

Fix compose support for ibus >= 1.5.28

- IBus.init() has been required to load the compose resource
since 1.5.28 after the EN compose table was moved to GResource.
Thanks to Takao Fujiwara for the hint!
- Load $HOME/.XCompose file by calling self.add_table_by_locale(None)
- Add add_table_by_locale() to mock_engine.py to fix the unit tests

to find the .desktop file.
If the .desktop file is found, the name shown by gnome-shell in the
top bar comes from that .desktop file and the icon to show is also
read from that .desktop file. If the .desktop file cannot be found,
the second argument of set_wmclass() is shown by gnome-shell in the
top bar.
It only works like this when gnome-shell runs under Xorg
though, under Wayland things are different.

says:
Don’t use this function. It sets the X Window System “class”
and “name” hints for a window. According to the ICCCM, you
should always set these to the same value for all windows in
an application, and GTK+ sets them to that value by default,

Deprecated since: 3.22
Please do not use it in newly written code.
Nevertheless calling set_wmclass() still used to be necessary
so I kept calling it inspite of the deprecation warning
on stdout.
But apparently this is not needed anymore since at least
Fedora 34/RHEL9, now the icon and the correct text appear in
the Gnome panel without calling set_wmclass().
